It’s no longer communication, but conversation.
Facebook mail will integrate email together with sms, chat and video communication. All communication types will be mixed and brought together into conversations with friends and contacts. Natural filtering in trusted senders (friends and contacts) and non-trusted senders will be a fact. So as a company you should start thinking about getting liked, fanned or friend with your audience. Are subject lines still relevant?
We all know that subject lines are very powerful for the relevancy of your email communication. The subject line is what people triggers to open your email, but will that still be true with Facebook mail? Since everything will be conversation based, the content of the conversation and no longer the subject line will be the motivator to join in. Shall this result in an approach similar to comments on a blog post, who knows?

An image and certainly a video says more than thousand words, but not in today’s email marketing. In-mail video is hardly supported by any actual email client what makes it hard to use. But … we will have to wait until the release of Facebook mail to really discover the new business opportunities. Feel free to comment this article.
